Hi, someone mentioned trolling on the global chat. What is trolling and how do you do it?

Well, here goes....

Trolling: In Internet slang, a troll (pron.: /ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is someone who posts inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[3] The noun troll may also refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted."


Just read throughout these forums and you'll occasionally come across some troll posts. Also, on the global chat in COC, trolling can be reported, and you can get muted for a time.

Geez Louise! That opened a can of worms, sorry I thought trolling was another strategy like farming. This is the first online game I have played, I usually play rpg's on playstation. Thanks for the info Coolhand, and don't worry OldBandit not something I'm going to try seems kind of pointless to me.

Haha I'm just jokin' around. Once ya meet a troll, usually people become 1, one way or another - Unfortunate fact of gaming. ( People aren't so mature anymore ). Thattt allll went away with Mech Warrior times imho.

Svein, trolling is NOT a good thing. It's basically being a bully to other people over the internet.

Svein is unique to our CoC division so I don't think he has much experience with the forums.
