How difficult would it be to get the rights to use the Unreal 2 engine, and then release a stand-alone multiplayer client for Repcom? It would be reasonably simple as far as I can see-Take off the Starwars label, we already have a basic stand-alone client made with TX's old "promod" client.

The reason I ask is because if it was more accessible and free all it would take is a little spamming on some popular gaming forums to drum up some more players.

It might sound stupid, but honestly, we can either sit here twiddling our thumbs fucking around until everyone finally quits or we can put more than 10 minutes of effort into getting it going again.

This game still has potential to be something bigger; there's no equivalent to it on PC. It's as if Halo and Star wars had a baby. Halo 2 PC never saw much potential because of the same problems-lack of accessibility and available players.

It's just a thought, don't take it too seriously.

I'm sure good old Walt Disney will be fine with that.

I have no idea how possible this would be, but I agree with the game itself having massive potential. I think if more people knew this game how we all do it'd have a much larger player base. Unfortunately, though, with the age and title of this game that likely won't happen.

I would honestly be able to die happily if what you're proposing actually happened, but I don't know how it ever could. A man can dream though I guess.

I'll help if you can figure out if it's actually possible and also what we need to do first.

WarPack 8 will be released soon. It includes most of the old ideas from our original PROMOD, but by far (!) better and almost free of bugs. It will be pretty much the best we've ever released. Stay tuned!
