i have the right settings on... and i have recorde twice or something .... but if i have 100-125 fps in xfire and 30-125 in fraps i go with xfire: but still i dont record

well, you cant have over 60 fps with fraps...

u can. u can pick ur own fps under the button for 60 fps ;)

If you guys want my special knowledge about this issue... I will tell you.

I tested alot of different configurations to get the best performance using Fraps. First of all: If you got a Dual/QuadCore CPU... you can be happy, because they help alot. Same for RAM... more is always better.

Then you hopefully got two different physical hard drives. Install the game you want to make a video of and Fraps on one of them. Then you should change the path for your Fraps video from default to a directory on the other hard drive. Therefore it shouldn't lagg anymore or atleast there is much less.

Hope I was able to help, because I eliminated the whole lagg with doing that...

thats my configuration...
4 (3,25) gig ram, 4x3ghz cpu, game is on C, Fraps path on D (extern/usb)

btw, if you want, that your Sound is sync with your video, you have to make 30 or 25 fps, dont know why, if you dont want to have sound in your video, deactivate it, your vid will be smaller and you will have a better performance

Use two different internal drives ... USB slows it down alot ... Fraps doesn't shrink the data and that's why the files are Gbytes big. Therefore USB can't simply handle that amound of data...


I actually can't confirm that... I used it with 50 FPS and it was fine...

Makes no sense? Doesn't matter what filesystem you're using... the dimension of the Fraps video files are still Gbytes big...


Might caused by USB? So you just have one internal hard disk? Then you can't try out my suggestion >.>

i had the problem with 2 hdd's too, so has sphinx, and thousand of other ppl...i googled the problem, only solution was 30fps >_>

i dont see the problems about the size and USB-HDD o.0 with Fat32 you can only save 4 gigs per data, with ntfs its unlimmited (afaik) and fraps is only saving 3 gig movie parts :o (could i change it? :O )
