Okok, screw that then.

I found this comp -

http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/22-003-SL ... 94p392.htm

CPU: Intel® Core 2 Quad Q9550
Motherboard: Asus P5N-D (nForce 750i chipset, SLI)
Memory: 4.0GB Corsair DDR2 800mhz XMS2 (2x 2GB)
Hard Drives: 1TB S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 5x Blu-Ray ROM S-ATA DVD±RW
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 896MB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Operating System: No Operating System - I will install my own
PSU: 580W Hiper Type-M Silent
Case: Antec Nine Hundred
Warranty: 3 Year Bronze Warranty

Note: comes with 3 year warranty, which costs like 150 quid at the other place...

The only thing that gets me here is that the only thing I can upgrade the graphics card to is 2 x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 896MB as opposed to just one...

Hm, I found this alternative:

http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/configure ... roduct=315

If you customize it, I can get the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 1GB, 1TB Harddrive, same Processor and 4GB RAM, just like on the first one.

The first computer costs £1,069.40 with 2 X NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 896MB and £870.30 with just one. The second computer costs £1,018.80 with all the upgrades. What is the economically more viable option? Concerning computer 1, is the difference is price worth the difference in quality, and is it all worth it compared to computer 2?

Meh, the price difference is small, so I reckon that's worth it.

What about soundcard, cooler, motherboard, power supply?

Or change the whole system: Get a motherboard with an AMD 790FX chipset and replace the GTX 280 by a Radeon HD 4870 X2 which is currently the fastest single card.

A Radeon HD 4870 X2 beats the Geforce 280.
And always notice that there is the CrossFireX option in future. By the way: CrossFireX is way more efficient than SLI, and there is no "microruckler" what Virus said.

Also you can use up to 4 GPUs in future, since that X2 is a dual GPU card.

Just an alternative.

yes, very usefull for playing operation flashpoint 2 on a 50" monitor with 100fps...

vash, what are you going to say us with that? do yo really think, that the grafic can be extremly better than crysis? or the effects extremly better than in Stalker:clear sky? if he buys a GTX260 now, he can buy everytime an other graficcard, the mainboard is ok, he doesnt want to overclock...he saves about 300bucks, and when you keep saving that money, and some other money, you can buy better hardware if its necessary..but now? not really...
look vash, i play on a 19" widescreen (native resolution of 1440x900) and i can play crysis on very high with 30-60 fps, cod4 with 180fps, stalker:clear sky on almost very high with 60 fps...[my grafic card is a Nvidia 8800gt/9800gt]
what you said with the 4870x2 and crossfireX...dude, 2x 4870x2 for what? its only necessary if you really want to play on a over 30" monitor, or if you just want to say to your friends: i have the best pc, i have the biggest dick!

so please listen to me status, and save your money for beer, drugs, women or to upgrade your pc in 3 years...(cuz you maybe cant play the newest game in 2011 on DX11 on very high, OMG!)

and vash, i dont want to offend you with that, i just thought about that...if its necessary to spend 1000 bucks for a pc, which is working on only 30% of its capacity...and with the coolness of a vulcano!

I don't get what you're trying to tell me Virus. A 4870 X2 is as expensive as the 280 and way better. So why not getting the faster one?

And if Status wants to spend that much money, he can do that aswell. It's up to him what he is going to pay, I just tell him what's the best choice for this price.

i thought, we are talking about a GTX260...it is 40€ cheaper...and dont tell me that this microlaggs are solved, i just read an article in my pc mag anywhere here...and Nvidia > ATI/AMD, i just trust Nvidia more...maybe they are cheeky, but they have the best singlecards, i dont trust this doublecardshit...getting very hot and microlaggs

Virus PLEASE, just PLEASE don't talk that retarded shit what's coming with no experience with this system.

It doesn't get any hotter than the 280, and since this system is just ONE card, there is no microlagg possible because there is no SLI/CrossFireX.
(Although CrossFireX doesn't lagg either, since a friend uses it and never says those shit)

And btw. I just told you that ATI provides the best single card with the 4870 X2.

Read this test and you will believe me: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/HD_4870_X2/
