I'm sorry to say it Flash, but ER was in the past with lots of skilled members. Take a reality check and look at "all" the clans and the amount of good players around these days along with which clans they're in. I hope atleast that tag and 7ds will provide the show to even give a reason for the tournament.

The fact that its the year 2013 and people are giving competitive matches a chance again is a cool idea to me regardless of the fact that there are really only two U.S. clans that have a shot at winning.

I don't think you guys truly know how ER works. I do believe that RedCell has a chance at winning.

This is a very basic formula but in theory its how ER works:

Score = matches played + Win/Loss Rato + Unique Players Played + Average Rating played

1. RedCell is the largest clan. Because RedCell is the largest clan, they will play the most matches - boosting that part of the score. I cannot tell you how many times Wrath earned first place simply because he played 10x as many matches as everyone else. If you guys play a lot you can certainly win.

2. RedCell is the most diverse clan. RedCell is truly the only clan who has a solid US and EU division. From this they will be able to play the most unique players. For those of you who don't understand it, you earn a unique player point every time you play somebody different. RedCell has good relations with TAG/7DS on the US end and TX on the Euro end. This is something that TAG and 7DS cannot do and gives you a competitive edge.

3. Average rating played. Okay so to be realistic, sure RedCell is not going to be able to take on the top clans. But this is a double edged sword. When you play someone who is ranked wayyy higher than you, you will gain a lot of points from playing really good players. And at the same time, the really good players will lose a lot of points for playing really low ranked players. So in reality, the good team has more to lose than the bad team does.


On a different note,

From what I've heard you guys are trying to make it sound like their used to be a lot more competition, but to be honest you're wrong. In any given tournament in the original ER there was never a time when any more than 3 clans ever had a legitimate shot at winning and I'd even argue there was never more than 2. But thats just how things work... People change clans and the power shifts, thats life.

The only reason everyone still plays this game is because they enjoy it, and I hope that because you believe that you are going to lose will not stop you from playing.

You guys also have to consider that TAG and 7DS have weaker players too. It is always frustrating to blackball the good players and I highly discourage it but when you get the chance, play other bad players. And in these cases you can certainly win games. it's not like you are going to lose all of them. You also have to consider clans like BHA, Shad, and OG will also be entering the tournament. And these are clans that you guys are certainly capable of beating.

There's always hope, never give up. You never know when somebody in RedCell is going to get really good or when somebody in a different clan will want to help balance out the power - for the record thats the only reason Dever, Crysis, and 007 aren't in 7DS. It's where they have more ties to more friends but they opted for TAG to balance out the game.

You've literally no clue what you're talking about do you? Just rethink what you have just posted and then check the TX memberlist. Sure flashy is right regardin the amount of matches played, and the double sided blade here, but still this does not mean everything.

Competition =! winning every match. Competition is a 50% w/l ratio. A method of forcing players to grow-not to imply you need growth, but rather, if you actually wanted hard matches you would have stayed.

Honestly I don't get it. These players in 7ds (And some in TAG) come and go almost monthly; it's as if repcom has a regular high flow bloody period accompanied of hardcore PMS by a bunch of 17 yr+ old males whom don't think long enough to put 2 and 2 together. When you put everyone who's decent into one clan, and then bitch about how everyone else is bad you might have down syndrome.

Ecliptical realms may judge based on unique players played and total matches played, but that is not a reflection of whom the best clan is, it's more a reflection of who is the most active.

Lebron told me that the reason we kept the ER system is because this community cannot handle something a bit more complex with the current state of its population. I think this is completely false. Repcom would benefit significantly from a gamebattles-esque system of teams as opposed to super huge clans. We all like 4v4s the best, it only makes sense to have 4 man teams competing in ladders. The reason gamebattles was not successful for the few months we had it was because we did not fit their system, and thus, our activity was near zilch.

This all being said, it's good to see people coming back.

Sorry, but some statements are simply wrong. ER does not put the winner tag on the most active clan... it is not all about quantity.

ER calculates the statistics based on many points. The score of a team is a relation between the 'quality' AND the 'quantity'. Not just the quantity of matches played.

I didn't say it was all about quantity ;)

I'm just trying to encourage them to play. And quantity certainly plays a large role.

The link is a PERFECT example of how Quantity can trump Quality. If you sort the scores based on W/L ratio, Wrath is no where near the top yet he still won the tournament. I'm assuming no changes have been made to the way the system scores and this is exactly how RC or any other clan for that matter can win.
