I am thinking about writing a game. Any good software suggestions to write it with?

you should first learn the language before you try to do anything...

start with C++ if you really want to get into it

or you could be lazy and just use game maker or something

yea try game maker or something... else if that's to easy do actionscript and google some tutorials

there is a 1st person shooter maker, but i actually forgot the name of it :P

ye i remember i have a million bucks ...i just forgot where i dropped em ...lol

i messed around with a platform game maker once


too tedious to make anything really fun with the kind of effort i was willing to put in

Im gonna go with RHK's C++ idea. I'm not really looking to making a arcadeish game.

i had the same thought when i was 12, i wanted to make a game, i started with RPG maker (god, that was hawsome), quite simple program, i started with it, i was 2 weeks very active, then after 3 weeks i was on it for only about 1h per week, and after 1 month i deleted the program and went back to normal life
