My new computer...

Hey guys I'm getting a gaming computer for xmas. Someone told me that it would just make the game faster, not take away lag. There are two things I want out of this comp, NO lag (which causes about 2/3 of my deaths) and smooth, clean gameplay with decent grahpics. Am I okay with what I'm getting?
