Wow, after all this time of taking pride in being a PC gamer, my friends may finally have me talked into getting an XBox. I'm not positive yet.

Before, I had the choice to spend my money on an XBox or a sexy new guitar, and I chose the guitar. Which, I'm very happy with, but all my friends have XBox and Halo 3, so they keep talking about how much fun it is just to hang out and play it.


Any advice for my situation. Does anybody else have an XBox here?

got a 360 a longg time ago and most of my friends have one

amazing system, best controller by far, and a bazillion good games for it i love my 360 its a great system and i would recommend it to ne one

xbl is just an amazing service and im willing to pay 50 a year for how good it is it is great fun to turn on me 360 have a chat with some of my friends then jump right into some gears or some halo

Now I'm looking at the prices here, because I'm quite cheap:

XBox (Pro 20GB) = 300 dollars
Game = 60 dollars
XBL = 50 dollars
Ethernet Cable = ? (not sure the distance I need, but it's pretty far)
TV (preferably flat screen) = ? doesn't need to be too big


What else? That's a crapload of monies. I can't get around the XBL, but there is a small chance my friend would give me his busted XBox, I'd need to send it in to get it fixed, though it might be best to get a new one? I could try getting Halo 3 from my friend whose 360 broke, but he's mean, so probably not. I might be able to get TV from someone.


Ugh, no more computer games for me.


TBH, my main reason for not having an XBox yet is that I'm afraid of it getting in the way of my school work, but I've played a lot of video games in the past during school.

u can just get wireless router and get Cod4.... way better then halo3

Isn't the adapter like 100 dollars?

you dont need to pay for a whole year of live you can even just do it monthly or just buy cards in stores rangeing from 1 month - 1 year

they are phaseing out the 20 gig for a 60 gig now



i would definatly recommend getting an hd tv or hell if u have a decent lcd monitor you can get the vga adapator for 360 which costs like 15 dollars and it lets u connect ur 360 to ur monitor atm i am switching inbetween having my 360 in the living room with my plasma and having it in my room on my 22' monitor

it comes with an ethernet cable but it is kinda short but ethernet cables are rather inexpensive nowa-days

60 gig is the same price as 20 then?

Some monitors support the 360 through HDMI...I don't use it because I have a 47 inch flat screen...
