Since i miss home more and more i need something to motivate me to stay 3 months longer here .... and here it is ... i think at least every second hour a day about my new comp.

I know there are some geeks here ... so help me get the best system for the best value when iam back.

So far this is approx. what i imagine:

-i7 ...not sure which one.
-motherboard ..not sure which one.
-GTX 295 ... iam tending to the MSI 295GTX
-at least 4GB DDR3 or more
-Power device .... not sure how much Watt i'll need
-new Case ... i never cared much bout how my case looks like so pls get me a cheap one which is not that bad (btw check out the new antec case ... it looks like a hyperspace-device from starwars lol ..)
-CPU cooler... i never had serious temperature problems ...even with cheap coolers... so get me the one with the best price-efficiency-balance
-i will stick to my old razer diamondback ...so no new mouse
-i will stick to my reclusa keyboard... no new keyboard
-i will stick to my pwn samsung 22'' ...
-and now it gets more interesting ..i srsly think about buying a Logitech G13 Gameboard ..looks awesome for me ... what do u guys think about that ?
- another issue: iam thinking about a KillerNic gaming network card ... those cards promise to improve onlinegaming immensly ...opinions ?
- i stick to my old HDD's ...no new ones ...

did i forget a device ?

too expensive...i think gamepads makes no sense, i personally dont like them and i wouldnt recommend one for you or anyone else

do you want to throw money out of the window? only because it has the name "killernic" in it, it doesnt help much...pcgh tested some "gamer" network cards and they improve the ping by max 3ms...even if lol...your onboard network card will be gigabit (1000mbits) and there is even no (known) internet connection, which can use its full capacity



would be a bit hard with all your wishes...alone the core i7+mainboard+GTX295 cost 1050€ (and i took the cheapest of them :P )

cuz core i7 needs that to unfold his big power, anyways Tripple Channel ;) This Antec case is amazing, ive got the smaller one (cuz the big one wasnt released when i bought it) thunder has the antec 1200 (like i want to recommend you)
And to the graphic card, it doesnt matter which one, everyone has the same cooler, so i took the cheapest with the best company (gainward).
The Cpu cooler is ultra pwnage, one of the best air cooling thing ever. You can put at least 2x 120mm Fans on it, one is already in the shopping cart.

I saved the shopping cart for you (alternate ftw :P ) lets see in 3 months, how the prices and the products are

to the case again:
ofc, its fuckin expensive! but think sphinx, you have a SLI Video card in it, you have a core i7...there will be temperatures like in hell when youre playing, and you dont want that your pc overheats and dies... so thats why that case, its the perfect cooling thing

and i think 700W with 56Amperes are enuff, but i need to talk with sadisto about that before

he dont need a cpu cooler := mine is on 56c when i have overclocked it and its on use to the maxiumum-.- )its like u cant use the i7 to 100% its to much power=

1600mhz is not better than 1333mhz, only if you overclock very hard...its a matter of price...it cost 20€ more...and isnt so much better, only when you want to overclock, but if you want to overclock really hard, you need even other RAM....and thats what sphinx wont do...


56C° ? my processor is 20°C in idle with that cooler, 35° when its 100%

If u are gonna focus on something that really needs better cooling buy a gfx cooler...

If u wanna overclock buy 1600mhz rams better for the future and then when u are gonna overclock buy this amazinghaxzor cpu cooler


amt my I7 is overclock with 7% and know what no problems to report..

my q6600 is overclocked by 25%, 65nm -> getting hotter than a Core i7 with 45nm-> ...but a stock cooler is bullshit and fucking too loud...

I dont know what im doing here but i think i will give my opinion to this thread.

First to the coolers:
1. BTW thers is no alternate AIR cooler for the GTX295. The Nvidia Dual-GPU Cars have a special desing which is too complicated for the cooler producers, so they dont bring an alternate air cooler for it.
2. I see no point not to buy the Thermalright CPU-Cooler. Always remember: A cool CPU increases the life of it.

RAM:
Sphinx doesn´t need DDR3 1600. 1333 is enough for him and he already said he doesnt want to overclock. Also high performance rams like DDR3 1600, DDR3 1800 and DDR3 2000 are harder to configure and you need a better CPU to have a full-support. in Core i7 the RAM Controller is in the CPU and not on the Northbridge like at Core 2 CPUs. And the point with the future: I have DDR2 1066 RAM and i just need cuz i overclock much. I also could use DDR2 667 or 800 RAM, its fast enough for every Core 2 CPU. RAM runs best synchronized to the FSB.

Mainboard:
DFI boards are very good. They look awesome and have amazing bios. (It has more Options for one single core than many other boards have for the whole CPU). That makes them a bit complicated for beginners in things like bios setup etc. The one Viruz showed isnt bad but it has Micro-ATX standard. So i would recommend these boards:

The biostar boards of the TPower series are a very hidden tip. They have good performace (same performance as Asus or Gigabyte boards) and they are cheaper. OK they dont have this much shit in the package like 3 versions of a dvd-programm etc but they have everything you really need.

So i hope i could help you a bit with your choice but we will see in 3 months.

the thing with the gtx295 is that ... i found the msi gtx295 in new zealand for NZ$899 which is about 390 euro.... which is under the border of worth that i can import.

are there big efficiency-differences between the i7's ?


yes. i already saving up. then wehen i leave nz i sell my car and my birthday is in april ... and cuz iam not in germany i save all the money i get and put it to the my-new-best-friend-project

with that video card, yes...there is almost nothing comparable, what is in the same price/performance class. But anyways, i will search for some alternatives ;) (but this case if fuckin amazing though)

you mean GTX295? no, there is 2% difference...the software and cable package and the support (400€ and you have 2 years guarantee...do you want to send it everytime, when something isnt working to new zealand? ) but well, you would save very good money...about 80€ but thats a risico buy... your choice


well, for actual games, no, for later (in 2 years) maybe... if they are too low, overclock them...they are 45nm CPUs and you will have a great and noiceless cooler, almost no temperature difference...

another tip: dont buy it now (lol) buy it when youre back, or 1 week before-> the prices will change during this 3 months (especially the videocard and core i7, you have the chance to save another 20-100€)

buhhhh sphinx, i searched now for an alternative case with a good cooling...no chance...only for more than 200€ or this one :/
