So I was up in the loft for reasons I will not go into and I found me old Windows ME compy from about 9 years ago. Let's take a look!

Here it is. Me old "Time" computer. Time was the UKs largest computer company employing over 1600 people. The company declared bankruptcy in mid 2005 and stopped trading 4 months later. But in 2007 some guy bought the rights to the logo and started trading again.


Has all your usual crap at the back. Only interesting thing is that it only has 2 USB ports and a TV card as standard! It's also noisy as hell, like standing next to an plane.


Not much inside, it's a pretty small machine.


Old things worth recovering were (from top to bottom), an Nvidia GE Force 4 (64mb DDR), a modem and the TV card which amazingly still works.



Oh and the hard drive, in all it's 40GB glory. It actually looks pretty awesome, got a cool plastic cover thing on it and everything.




Processor is an AMD.....fuck knows, i never really looked. Before you laughed AMD where actually quite good. Then intel pentium 3 and 4 came along and blew AMD out of the park. All the game sponsorship also helped.


Has 2 pieces of 128MB RAM making 256MB of RAM total. And it's still quite a quick machine. Bootup time was about 40 seconds.


All in all i got everything worth while out of it.


So why am I doing this? Mainly because i'm bored. Partly to remember the good old days and to show people what I use to use in the old days and it was enough! This thing ran the N4S: Underground and underground 2 ffs! ... they where high spec games back then ok!

And also to give me old PC, which lasted me about 5 years, a good send off.

hm maybe rhk will dig out his old Macintosh Classic...
