So I got a PS3 on a black friday deal, then went and purchased the Killzone Trilogy about a month later because i wanted to try them out since they looked great (and the trilogy only cost 40$ which is awesome). Since i have started playing killzone 2 it has become my new obssession, so I felt like making a piece for it. Seeing the Game Cover for it, which was utterly boring and bland, so I decided to make one on my own.

Everything here was compiled and designed by me EXCEPT for the playstation typography at the top and the mature rating logo or the guerilla logo. I COULD easily have made them, but since its not commercial product or for school project and on my free time, i shortcutted and just grabbed them from google, mainly because i am far too lazy.

Haha haven't gotten to 3 yet haha. It took me forever to beat the original on hard since it was such an awful game. 2 was a MAJOR step up thank god!

Thanks for your analysis Status! I'll go through what you said from top to bottom haha

Arial Font?: No i didn't make that section remember? haha i just took it from a PS3 case, more specifically L.A. Noire, then fit it in place.

Helmet/BG: The original render was cut off halfway on the head, so my way around it was to fade it out, as if going into camo, i have some of it subtly around the shoulders. looking back it might have better to have some faint outline to demonstrate more that it was going into active camo or something.

Killzone Text: I agree with you on this. when I colorized it , I tried putting it on top and on bottom of the case and it looked unbalanced both ways, plus I felt red would get sucked into the entire piece and you would lose it, that is why I went with that choice. I should re-vamp that section better.

Cheap things?: Those are fireworks actually haha, I was going for a flares from a flame, and that was the only thing I found that I liked that I could tastefully add, everything else I found was way to chaotic for the piece itself ( ironic, right?).

Black things: That came from a black and white still from WWII or something from a grenade explosion in dirt. I put it there to add depth between the fire and explosion, without it, all the explosion/fire stuff melds to one and becomes extremely flat. I needed that fire in the front of it since my render was cut off above the knees.

Seeing it all again, i can see your division that you are observing, i think at the time after the like 7 hours of time i put into this I felt that the render covered enough of the bg that it wouldn't really matter. I think I could go back and throw some touches of red/oranges in there to unify it more. Thanks for you input Status :D
