If you want a plain sig, that's fine, but the balance of effects (as well as colour, depth, etc.) needs to be equal.


lol the main effect was supposed to look like it WAS a stock. and it worked xD!

i was never intending for it mean to be that way. it was meant to be a freindly talk between you and me as a sig maker. i just wanted you to see what actually was made and not what you think it is, and what i did to make it work to make you think what it was.

(but ya i guess the CAPS were not needed and also the use of the "!!!!!!")

how about a massive minus tip ^^

i feel that it is ok. not much is going on. it just seems as tho you just blurred around render and put a c4d in.

v2 and v3 arn't very nice, its very hard to distinquish where/what the render is. to help with depth i always just use burn tool on dark areas and dodge on light areas. or you can just put black in dark spots and white in light and set it to value and mess with the opacity.

but its a nice start and can be opened up into new things.

i think you should not have blurred the background so much. a little blur is nice but i think you went a little overboard anyway

I'll work from v2, as I feel that is the one with the most potential.

The first thing that springs to mind when I see this is the text. It's far, far too big; and although you've made it so that it conplements the flow .. it's just way too attention grabbing. I never use text in my sigs unless I have to, and when I do, I leave it somewhere at the bottom.

Second is that hell-annoying border? Why is it white? Make it black, and a least have a 2-3px border down the side ...

The main thing you need is a bit of lighting. v2 is too dark, but if you brush gently at the top of the canvas with a 300-400px white 100% soft brush, the dark bits will become far, more interesting. Also, I don't know how good you are exactly; it's hard to tell from this sig, but you could make small blobs of orange with a brush and then smudge it out and change blending mode. It's easy to do, but hard to get right; but if you do, it really works. Try it.

The lines in the background work, well done, but they draw too much attention to themselves, just like the text. Once you've fixed some lighting on the dude and shifted the text a bit, the dude will hopefully pop out a bit more.

That's all I can be bothered typing now. Might add to it later.

It's too light now.

The light source should be only on top. Keep v2 as it was, just do some brushing in WHITE on the top.

Upload the PSD or something.
