Considering how the community already disallows the use of half of the weapons in the game, I'm not sure how you can necessarily create "new" weapons. They are either going to be overpowered and people will call them noob, they will be weak as hell and no one will use them, or they will be a repeat of something that's already in the game just with a different skin. That's my 2 cents on this. Good idea in theory but I'm not sure how much that will affect gameplay. If you ask me the community should just allow the use of all weapons in competitive play. If something is extremely overpowered then maybe just nerf it a bit. Like the AA only has 4 shots, the rocket 5, HR has terrible accuracy and you move slow as hell, concusion is a delayed burst so it's easy to dodge and if your sniping with it then it's actually a good shot. EC's and sonic pickups should maybe only have 1 nade when you pick them up. The community needs a change of mindset, not a change of in game architecture. But from a graphics point of view it's all very cool. |

I understand your point, but Ive already played like 10 matches with a few guys (Narcissus, Vash etc.) and although the weapons are not finished yet and we were only beta testing them, they worked pretty well and brought something new to the game. Some replaced old weapons, others are entirely new and a good addition, at the end we all thought it was a lot of fun and that old and new weapons will work at the same time. Everything was balanced quite well. And if you think we cant make something new, let me just tell you that there is going to be a bow in the mod, one that works like a real one, not like the wookie bowcaster. Thats pretty new I think - and it did fit very well to the game, not overpowered, not too weak, just like all new weapons. Not to mention the smoke nade, which has not been in SWRC before, or a flashnade in the multiplayer.

To comment on what flash said: How were weapons deemed as "noob"? Did the competitive community set those guidelines? From what I can see, most clans rule by those guidelines. A good amount of public players want to be in the better clans. The better players and clans have a better chance of changing the "noob" weapon guidelines than others. |
